I think the key question is "imagining what?". Better structures and designs underpinning and enabling our communities? Or better, desired, valued real living experiences?

To imagine the latter, we must make a stronger distinction between intellect (reason) and intuition. Intuition ( I call it "Flow Intuition") of real experience and of the absolute real gives the creative impetus, basis and content necessary for enhanced imagination.

Yet persistent tendencies of intellect - analysis, data, stability, similarity, category, classification, representation (and their spatial origin) - deny access to such reality and real experience - and obscure intuitional faculties of thought and creation. Intuition - especially of flows of creation, change, difference, continuity, qualities and multiplicities - is the denigrated yet vital origin trait of real creativity and discovery .. and real imagination.

The blind spot in science, health care, social science, architecture urban planning, social policy, digital transformation, cognitive science and all their current prescriptions is an intuition of real experience, and especially their origins, creation, differenciation, stuckness and persistence.
